Marie Curie Predator Cup 2009

The Cambridge Region of the PAC, are pleased to confirm that the 8th Marie Curie Predator Cup will take place on Sunday 29th November 2009. The venue remains unchanged - being the Ely Beet section of the river Great Ouse near Ely. The usual rules apply with dead-baiting and lure fishing only, and with a maximum of 2 rods in use at any time. The likely cost will also remain unchanged at £15.00 per person and with an optional pool of £5.00 per angler.

The fishing will be from 9am until 3pm, with the draw taking place at the Ely Beet Sports and Social Club from 7am onwards. There will of course be a raffle on the day and anglers will have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets on the bank from the Marie Curie team.

It is likely that the number of anglers taking part will be restricted to no more than 120 so early booking is advised to avoid disappointment. For more information please contact Nicky Hastler of Marie Curie Cancer Care by e mail at nicola.hastler@mariecurie.org.uk or by telephone on 01920 468956. The address of their office is:- Marie Curie Cancer Care, 9 Mobbs Miller House, Ardington Road, Northampton NN1 5LP. Registrations will be dealt with by Margot Clements at this office. You can also contact the organsizer, Dick Culpin, on 01279 813588 after 7pm if you need any further information.

Over the last 7 years the efforts of the anglers taking part have made a real difference to those whose lives are affected by cancer. In that time over £15,000 has been raised to help people who are less fortunate than us and we aim to continue that good work at this years event. Your efforts are really appreciated and I look forward to seeing old friends and new acquaintances alike in November.
